“You are the world”, by Lorenzo Quinn, arrives on Lake Iseo

In spring 2023, Lake Iseo will host Lorenzo Quinn’s wonderful and significant artwork “The Hands.”

Other internationally renowned artists such as Christo & Jean-Claude, had already chosen this charming lake, for the art installation known as “The Floating Piers.”

The work by Lorenzo Quinn was scheduled to be inaugurated in 2022, then postponed until next year.

The work “You are the world” by Lorenzo Quinn in Sulzano

The work will be inaugurated in the spring of 2023, on the shores of Sulzano, on the occasion of the cities of Bergamo and Brescia being the Italian Capitals of Culture in 2023.

With this striking artwork, the artist wishes to remind us that the world is in our hands and it is our responsibility to take care of it.

This is not the first time that the artist, son of Anthony Quinn, has chosen hands as the heroes of his works. In Venice he had depicted hands delicately supporting a marvelous palace overlooking the lagoon.

On Lake Iseo the hands will emerge from the water and hold up the Globe. The scene will be even more exciting thanks to the installation of a suspended path that will allow people to walk on the water, passing underneath the artwork.
